This pet food container was designed as a promotional product for the brand Pedigree to include a 3k bag of inside when sold at Woolworths stores across Australia.
Style: The body was designed with a playful and robust style which includes 2 lips that protrude at the front and back of the part and a wide collar textured band at the top to ensure a good grip when pouring the contents. The top collar band emulates a dog collar.
Function: The design incorporates a sliding gate to control the pouring volume of the contents and a transparent body to see the remaining quantity inside although it was also made in a solid colour as a cat food version. The lid is airtight to avoid smell coming out of the container.
Production: The lid and gate were designed to be moulded in teh same tool to minimise tooling costs, process inventory and optimise assembly.
By using mirror finish and etched surfaces on the lid the top panel of this part was used for branding.
